For several years, researchers group together to find the right direction in analyzing how homeless people can acquire a better framework in a direction of regaining their dignity and integrity. Researchers were able to create an assessment tools that eventually produce a meaningful result. This paper will discuss the different tools that can assess the homeless people in developing the necessary guide to overcome their present difficulties, mentally and physically. Assessment tools in different model but the tools selected for the homeless people are descriptive and appropriate. The first tool that is appropriate for the homeless population is the Degoratis Stress Profile. The reliability of the DSP is an acceptable measurement based on the evaluation from different sources. By analyzing the Derogative Stress Profile, this is the possible test and obtains a source of information in assessing the homeless people in regarding their psychological situation. Homeless people are in a distressed situation, in the sense; they have to think how they will survive each day. They do not have a source of income, a place to live, are unkempt, and no stable place to stay or sleep. Based on their situation, their psychological situation appears compromised. The second tool that is also appropriate for homeless people is the Beck Depression Inventory. Beck Depression Inventory is a series of questions developed to measure the intensity, severity, and depth of depression in patients with psychiatric depression. (Beck, 1984). This measurement consists of 21 questionnaires and each with 4 responses needed. Each response corresponds to a score, from zero to three, to indicate for the severity of depression. Throughout the work of Langston Hughes, and the documentary film, â€Å"The Lottery†, you find many similarities, and differences from today’s society and acceptance of black Americans. In today’s society these works and many others of the Harlem Renaissance era still hold true, but the most important is the African Americans reliance on God. In, â€Å" I too†, by Langston Hughes wrote in 1922 is about a presumably young black man is stating that he too is an American and one day everyone will treat him as such. â€Å"I am the dark brother, they send me to eat in the kitchen but I laugh, and eat well and grow strong.† (Hughes, 1922). One girl put forward that I was to old for her, which is funny because he still lives at home with her mom, her room basically resembles a 10 year olds with a bunch of Sailor Moon crap and she has no education or ambitions. I on the other hand have an education, am self-supportive (mostly) and have a job that gives Age isn’t a factor anyone can control if you like a person you like a person end of story. It’d be like me refusing to date any girls who’s name is Amy. My reasoning is backwards and stupid and its a factor that the other party can’t control. It’s not like one of us is underage or there’s like a fifty year age difference. Yet when I told some of my friends they defended this girl saying she was right. â€Å"Sorry but she’s right, it’s weird for a girl to be the older person in a relationship. † Oh that’s logical, way to stand up for your gender. I have no use for pathetic outdated thinking, and anyone that subscribes to this limited world view needs to rethink what it means to have freedom of choice. Makes me cringe that I have a better grasp of this than most, or that I’m the one who doesn’t get things because I don’t see rules in he same narrow world view that is considered the norm. You can’t date someone younger than you? Or some stupid preconceived notion prevents your brain from choosing on your own. Hopefully someday more people will be able to unlock their mind forgo manacles and think for themselves but until then I have to wonder why anyone thinks this is something.
